I would give it five stars if it said exactly how much water to add, though maybe the diameter of the pot would make a difference? I don't know. I had to guess at how many inches of water above the chickpeas was needed. Perhaps a ratio of water to beans could be given instead?Nevertheless, the chickpeas were delicious and I will be making them this way again. I love that I don't need to soak for 8 hours or even do the quick soak technique. I will not be buying canned beans again.
Gone are the days of overnight soaking before cooking! This simple (salt-free) method of cooking dried chickpeas is perfect! And by making smaller portions, I only make what I need so my limited storage is happy :)
This was so delicious! Thank you for the idea and recipe, Nicole.I doubled the recipe and next time won’t double the salt. The brine I used was on the salty side so a full teaspoon was a bit too much
I really liked the cashew paste! I should have kept the veggies in bigger pieces or cooked them less; the broccoli and cauliflower turned to mush for me. Taste and adjust seasoning as you go; I added a lot of salt.
This was a fresh and tasty salad. A great way to use citrus when it's season. I like vinaigrettes to be a little thicker, though. I added a little Dijon mustard on the second day and really liked that.
This stew was tasty and filling. I didn't puree the lentils because I prefer them whole for texture. I added about a cup of water to get the consistency I like. I didn't see salt on the ingredient list; this definitely needed some. Taste and adjust!
This oatmeal had delicious flavor! I don't have a 7x11-inch pan so used a 9-inch square one. I should have cut back on the bake time a little to retain more moisture. The sauteed apples on top were great. Enjoyed it with cream and looking forward to the leftovers.
