I made this and only changed adding a half cup of rice and another 3/4 cup of water. Rice is always in our cabbage rolls. Was very happy with the results and this recipe. I am thinking of using Rotello tomatoes in my next attempt for a little more pizzaz.
I made one similar to this but this needs about a third cup of sugar and also about three Tablespoons of corn starch mixed in with the fruit before pouring it into the pie pan. I also baked at 375 for 50 minutes but used a homemade oil crust which may take longer than a packaged? Easy to substitute other fruits and berries in this pie if desired.
Absolutely a great crust. I did use 2/3 cup oil and 5 TB of ice cold water so did not follow this completely but it turned out so nice and flaky. No one knew it was not a traditional crust until I told them. I have to watch my saturated fat intake so this is perfect for me. I only gave it a four star because of my modifications.
I made this pie with fresh blueberries and only changes were four tablespoons of corn starch and temperature at 375. Made it with the oil pie crust recipe as I have to watch my saturated fats. Turned out excellent and no one knew the crust was any different than the traditional one. Came out very flaky. Then after my success I made a peach and two pear pies with this recipe.
This had so much flavor! I put the asparagus on a foil lined pan and spray with Canola oil. Give it a dusting of Garlic powder and Italian seasoning and bake for 22 minutes. I use thicker asparagus stalks. Time may vary. Only way we will be eating asparagus now
I loved this recipe for my stir fry vegetables. I would use a lower sodium teriyake next time I make it. My only change was I added a Tablespoon of Oyster sauce to the recipe and that took it over the top. I put the chili sauce and minced garlic directly on the vegetables when stir frying them and then pour the sauce mixture on later.
