Burger King Has a Cheesy Fan-Favorite Returning Nationwide

Burger King is a giant in the fast-food game, and even though it’s a major player, the chain isn’t afraid to try new things. Of course, sometimes, the best new things aren’t new at all. In this case, it combines two of the most delicious items you can imagine: tater tots and cheese.

After a brief return to some Burger King locations in New York, Florida, Arizona, and Colorado in the early fall of this year, Cheesy Tots are returning to Burger King nationwide. 

Cheesy Tots Are Returning to Burger King

The fan-favorite snack originally debuted on BK menus in 2016. Since then, the savory side has reappeared to much delight. This time, it’s returning to menus on Dec. 7, 2023. 

The Cheesy Tots feature a crispy exterior with a warm, gooey, cheesy-potato interior. And while the official release isn’t until the 7th, it may be worthwhile to check in with your local restaurant before then, as some locations may offer the side dish early.

Fans are gearing up for the return of the tots. On a Reddit thread noting that Cheesy Tots are returning on Dec. 7, one user commented, “I will also be returning to Burger King on December 7th.” Another said, “I remember getting these before I would go to school. They're really nostalgic for me.”

While some past releases of this item have been to a limited market, it’s going nationwide to participating locations this time. But as with all non-permanent menu items, it won't last forever. (Luckily, another side dish has been added to the permanent menu recently.) And if you miss the boat on Cheesy Tots at Burger King, you can always try your hand at making your own.
