Ingredients
-
8 cups water
-
1 pound raw Virginia peanuts in shells
-
⅓ cup salt
-
1 tablespoon Creole seasoning (such as Tony Chachere's)
-
1 tablespoon liquid crab boil seasoning
Directions
-
Combine water, peanuts, salt, Creole seasoning, and liquid crab boil seasoning in a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot); stir. Close and lock the lid. Select High pressure according to manufacturer's instructions; set timer for 180 minutes. Allow 25 minutes for pressure to build.
-
Release pressure using the natural-release method according to manufacturer's instructions, about 25 minutes. Unplug the cooker but keep the lid on. Let peanuts sit for 2 hours for maximum flavor.
Cook's Note:
The peanuts are done at the 3 hour 50 minute mark, but I highly recommend waiting 2 hours more for maximum flavor.
