Peach Crisp with Canned Peaches

I prefer to make a peach crisp with canned peaches. It is very good with ice cream or sprinkled with pecans before baking. My family actually calls it a peach cobbler, but the crispy shortbread-type crust makes it a crisp.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 12 servings

  • 1 (29 ounce) can sliced peaches, drained

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 ½ cups white sugar

  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 1 cup chilled butter, cut into chunks

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Layer canned peaches in a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  2. Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt together in a large bowl. Mix in butter until the mixture resembles pea-sized crumbs; sprinkle over peaches.

  3. Bake in the preheated oven until topping is light golden brown, 30 to 40 minutes.

Cook’s Note

Add two large cans of peaches if you prefer more fruit than topping.
