With winter comes chilly temperatures and sweet holiday goodies. And while I love curling up fireside with a steaming mug of cocoa, there’s an even cooler way to enjoy holiday flavors—literally. That’s right, we’re talking about Dairy Queen’s holiday Blizzard Treats menu.

What Are Dairy Queen’s Holiday Blizzard Flavors This Year?

Dairy Queen is saying goodbye to the seasonal Pumpkin Pie Blizzard and hello to two special winter season Blizzards: the Frosted Sugar Cookie Blizzard and the Candy Cane Chill Blizzard.

The Frosted Sugar Cookie Blizzard launched in 2022 and became an instant classic. It features soft sugar cookie pieces, icing, and sprinkles swirled in the chain’s classic soft-serve ice cream for a cool twist on classic holiday sugar cookies.

The Candy Cane Chill Blizzard is back on the holiday menu year after year, and for good reason. It's filled with candy cane pieces to deliver a refreshing peppermint taste and chocolate chunks that keep things sweet, all blended in Dairy Queen’s vanilla soft serve.

Instead of one Blizzard Treat of the Month, these two seasonal flavors are sharing the title this month. Both of these treats are only available in December, so the race is on beginning Friday, December 1 to see just how many Candy Cane Chill Blizzards you can consume in 31 days. Sadly, that also means we’ll have to say goodbye to the November Blizzard Treat of the Month, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Pie Blizzard Treat.

Nevertheless, fans are happy to see the holiday Blizzards back on the menu, commenting on Dairy Queen’s Instagram saying, “My favorite Candy Cane, been waiting for this,” and “FROSTED SUGAR COOKIE IS THE BEST!! Can’t wait to grab one!”

Other fans also provided a few off-menu suggestions worth considering to modify the Candy Cane Chill Blizzard. If you miss the Peppermint Oreo Blizzard that DQ released in the past, you can sub Oreo cookie pieces for the chocolate chunks to create a similar treat. And in a Reddit thread, fans recommend asking your DQ to add cocoa fudge to the Candy Cane Chill Blizzard, creating a Frozen Hot Cocoa-Candy Cane Treat Blizzard hybrid, aka the best of both worlds.
