Follow previous reviewer’s suggestion to lay pecans first, it did look nicer than folding them in. I turned the oven off after baking and let sit for another 10 minutes to set and brown up a little more.

German Apple Cake.
Very pleasantly surprised by how well this came out! I added 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, increased vanilla to 1 Tablespoon. Glazed with 1 cup powder sugar, 1T vanilla, 1T milk, dash cinnamon. Will definitely be a repeat in this house!

I’m very sorry to report that this was a waste of delicious pepper jelly. The balsamic was not a good flavor combination with the pepper jelly. I gave it two stars because it looked pretty. I think the rub would have been good on it’s
