Aunt Barb's Soft Apple Pie

This was recipe was taken from my hubby's Aunt who has been making pies for 30 years. This is an easy recipe for those who are looking for a softer apple filling.

Ingredients

  • 5 Golden Delicious Apples

  • 3/4 tsp Cinnamon

  • Sprinkle of Nutmeg

  • 2 tsp Tapioca

  • 1/2 cup Sugar

  • 1 box Jiffy Pie Crust Mix

  • 1 tbsp Milk

  • 1 pie pan

Directions

  1. Filling:

  2. - Wash, peel, core, and slice apples

  3. - Microwave apples for 2 minutes

  4. - Mix in cinnamon, nutmeg, tapioca, and sugar

  5. - Microwave mixture another minute

  6. Pie Crust:

  7. Follow directions on box. One box makes two pie crusts -- one will be the crust and the other will be the top. Place the crust into the pie pan.

  8. Place mixture into the bottom pie crust. Use a pastry brush to moisten the edge of the pie crust with milk. Carefully place the top crust on the pie so it overlaps the bottom. Use a fork to flute the crust and trim the edges. Cut steam slits in top crust.

  9. Place in oven and back at 375 for 25- 30 mins.
