I followed others suggestions and gave this recipe some punch. I browned the meat with the onion and chopped garlic. I then added chopped pickles, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, hamburger seasoning and then the cheese. I poured this into the pie pan and topped it with the Bisquick mix with 1/2 cup of milk and 3 eggs. It turned out GREAT. I'll be making this often.
First off I had 15 lbs of tomatoes from the garden so I guess on the amounts. I added sugar to cut down on the acidity and added a ton of herbs. Heavy on oregano and basil. I also added bay leaf and a large can of tomato paste, I cooked it all afternoon to make it good and thick. I didn’t skin the tomatoes, I just tossed them into the kettle. I then ran everything through the food processor. I put a ladle full in one quart freezer bags and laid them flat in the freezer. Mighty tasty!!
