This dough was beautiful at first but became very difficult to work with. It is not easy to rework and roll out. Even after freezing I had mostly gooey stuff. My cute cookie cutters could not be used. I give three stars because the cookies still tasted amazing. And yes, 375 for 7 minutes.

I added honey and lemon juice into this and cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter like you would for a pie crust. Then I chilled the rolled out dough and cut circles with a biscuit shape, folded the dough over the bean paste and made crescent shape. My family loved these!

I also want to add: adzuki beans worked perfectly for this, they are very sweet and bright. You can add a little cinnamon too.

I made a bitter orange/ginger/cardamom version with an extra cup of brown sugar. It turned out golden and rustic. The whole house smells amazing! Good recipe!

I used egg nog mixed with lemon juice and maple syrup instead of milk. I didn’t heat the milk but it was a warm kitchen and I let it sit... So good! I added brandy for flavoring and got a little crazy with the egg wash but it turned out great! I let it rise twice for longer times than the recipe and folded in walnuts these the end. I will be making this again!
