I put it on the stove on a light boil, add milk stirred in to a nice beautiful color. Left it cool down And it was amazing on top of Ramen noodles

Instead of water are used beer And Swanson beef broth. I made the vegetables separate then I waited 3/4 of the way through and I combined the broth from the vegetables into the original broth where the roast is. I also used shallot onions for more flavor. At serving time it was a lot easier to cut the meat and add the vegetables from a separate crockpot
